How to Succeed in the ADL Program

After reviewing the necessary material on Dr. Harapnuik’s e-portfolio, I have gained a new perspective on how to be successful within the ADL program. The ADL program allows you to recognize that there first has to be a change in focus to accomplish anything you will need to do within the program. With the right focus, we can make necessary improvements to our learning environment and education (Harapnuik, 2020). Changing our focus is also identifying the current education model and how this program creates a shift from the typical teacher-led instructional model.

Here in the ADL program, they focus on providing authentic learning experiences. In order to be successful in engaging in a student-led learning environment you must also understand the importance of CSLE + COVA Framework. While COVA allows us as learners to have choice, ownership, voice, and an authentic learning experience, it also welcomes the idea of creating a significant learning environment for us to thrive in. It opens the opportunity for us to engage in play and imagination in a collective with our colleagues and professional learning networks. The principles of play and imagination is discussed in the book “A New Culture of Learning”.

The program identifies with the constructivist theory which has a direct correlation with the CSLE + COVA framework. We can engage, explore, explain, extend, and evaluate the information being received to acquire and enhance our knowledge and skills within the program. The creation of an e-portfolio in this program allows us to reflect on our learning and a means for collaboration and communication with our peers in the program. The professors will guide the learners in creating these significant learning environments. It allows us as learners to be successful and make a difference in our organization by choosing everything. We can structure and share our ideas not only with our professors and peers but in the real world by publishing our e-portfolio to the public eye.
