Read this blog to find out possible publication companies for my article regarding the benefits of project-based learning and ePortfolios.
I have been in the education field for seven years now. Over the years, I have noticed the mass amount of things in education that need to change. Students' engagement and confidence levels have significantly decreased due to each year's increased level of rigor in standardized assessments. Standardized assessments are a comprehensive measurement of all learners' knowledge. However, you cannot accurately assess learners' knowledge by boxing them into categories and assessing utilizing one assessment style. Considering the digital age that academic learners are in, there are so many new ways for learners to showcase their knowledge increasing student engagement and creating significant learning environments through play, imagination, and constraint.
Between digital advancements and the opportunity for diverse curricula, we can make a change in the education system. This leads me to the two topics that I initially sought out for my publication article.
Exploring the Benefits of Project-Based Learning in a Blended Learning Classroom
How to incorporate the use of AI within the classroom
The topic that stuck with me the most was elaborating the benefits of project-based learning. This is the topic that resonates most because it directly correlates to my innovation plan.
The three publications of my interest are as listed below:
Edutopia: This publication site finds interest in tech integration, assessments, integrated studies, project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and professional learning. Based on the topic I am writing about this website is the most feasible in that it covers all areas of my future article publication.
ISTE: Their publication site focuses on teaching and learning with the incorporation of technology. Project-based learning within a blended learning environment directly correlates with the use of digital tools.
EdSurge: This publication caught my attention based on its 2024 interests in students’ mental health correlating to academic studies and reasonable costs based on demographics. The mental health section caught my attention. However, that only addresses a portion of my article topic.
The digital environments that currently allow me to collaborate are Google Docs, discussion forums, and Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams has been the most established platform between colleagues at work and within the cohort. With Google Docs it would be beneficial to get a phone notification each time someone comments on your work. Microsoft Teams could use improvements in allowing its users to be able to toggle between multiple teams accounts and not force you to only be signed into one.
